Magnesium (Mg) usually appears on soil test reports as parts per million (ppm) Mg. Occasionally, the value will appear as pounds per acre (ppa) Mg.
To convert ppa Mg to ppm Mg, multiply by 2

Note: Do not use Effective Cation Exchange Capacity (ECEC) where Total Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) is requested. To convert ECEC to CEC, use the form at the bottom of this page.

Note: Soils that have CEC >15.0 are more difficult to saturate with the desired nutrient. Use the lower end of the normal saturation range where the CEC is very high.
